All inclusive wedding packages in Mexico bundle together almost anything and everything you need for a wedding.
In essence, the couple pays for their airplane tickets, resort room, and their wedding package, while their guests pay for their own individual suites and travel.

On average, a wedding package will include the following basic amenities:
- The venue and wedding location of your choice, with basic décor
- Table and chair linens
- Floral arrangements
- Ceremony music
- Champagne or sparkling wine toast
- A semi-private reception venue, such as a restaurant or ballroom at the resort property
- Catering and open bar service
- Wedding couple premiums, like a couple’s massage, room upgrade, or a candlelit beach dinner
- Complimentary honeymoon stay
Are All-Inclusive Packages in Mexico Expensive?
Not at all!
On average, a destination wedding is cheaper than a stateside ceremony.
On average, a destination wedding will cost anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000, depending on the level of luxury you’re seeking. The more amenities and add-ons a wedding package and suite have, the more expensive it will be!
On the other hand, a US-based wedding costs $28,000 on average (based on 2021 data).
And guess what? That price doesn’t include a honeymoon.
One of the many delights of a destination wedding is it’s a tropical wedding, an intimate honeymoon, and a fun vacation all in one! Essentially, you won’t be spending extra on a separate honeymoon.

What’s Not Included in a Mexico Wedding Package?
Wedding Photographer
A dedicated photographer is usually not included in your destination wedding package.
Some packages will include a limited number of photos, such as a maximum of 30 shots, but most require an additional price for a photographer.
For instance, Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres charges $600 for photography vendor fees.
A professional photographer won’t necessarily be a ‘must’ for every couple, but for those that know they want someone documenting all of the big moments of their special day, Destify and your onsite wedding coordinator will make sure that they book this additional service for you!
Package Extras
In addition to a photographer, numerous premium wedding add-ons aren’t included in most wedding packages.
As we covered above, the basics and necessities are all incorporated in all wedding packages.
But for some, their destination wedding is a time to go all out. 4-hour receptions with open bar, fireworks, live musicians or DJs, top-shelf alcohol, gourmet food stations, and even fire dancers are just a few of the extra inclusions that some of our couples have added in the past.

Legal Wedding Ceremony
The last on our list here has to do with ceremony types.
Most destination wedding packages include a Symbolic Ceremony only.
While just as special, these symbolic ceremonies aren’t considered legally recognized.
Most couples either have their legal ceremony before or after their destination wedding, often at a Court House.
That way, they don’t have to worry about legal loopholes or technicalities when they have their destination wedding.
While you can host a Legal Ceremony at your destination wedding, there will be a number of additional fees and requirements.
Legal/Civil Ceremony Requirements:
- Bloodwork from the couples (required in all Mexican states)
- Judge/legal fees
- Translation and proper filing for documents may be needed to validate the Wedding Certificate in your Country of Origin.
