Costa Rica is a Central American country known for the dense rainforests that make up almost a quarter of its landscape and also house wildlife conservation projects for native animals. These lush areas are protected and filled with vibrant flowers and exotic wildlife. This is an ideal destination for couples who like to be more active, as you can visit national parks, hike volcanoes, or explore the Africa Adventure Safari Park. Though densely populated with rainforests, you can also find beautiful beaches along the coast, as well as laid back surfing towns. Most resorts are located in the Guanacaste and Papagayo regions on the Pacific side of the country, offering darker sand and deep blue water to set the scene for your wedding ceremony. You can often see monkeys swinging in the trees nearby. Costa Rica is at the southern end of Central America, so flights tend to be longer and more costly from many parts of the U.S. The closest airport to the resort areas is Liberia.
At a traditional Costa Rican reception the bride and groom participates in a “money dance” where guests pin money on the couple’s garments in order to start their nest egg or pay for their honeymoon.
I love the fact that the bride and groom are the reason people will travel so far, to share their special day with them.
