The Couple
Chad and Hillary went to the same high school. They had briefly met before but really got to know each other after college when they began working together in a small insurance office. They began dating and Hillary remembers thinking he was cute in his tie when he came in for his first interview. They had moved on from working together as their relationship got more serious, and had moved in together too.
One night she came home late from the office to see a special dinner prepared on the table as she pulled into the driveway. When she opened the door Chad was dressed dapper, there were steaks and champagne on the table, and he got down on one knee and proposed. Hillary said, “It was the most intimate and special moment I could have ever asked for.”
The Planning
The couple had seen Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos while researching resorts, but it appeared as if the resort wasn’t available for their desired dates. After working with Michelle, of Destify, they were able to secure this resort after all. Hillary said, “We were thrilled to see this resort within the options available for our date!” Working with Michelle was easy, and she kept everyone informed of deadlines and set expectations. Working with the wedding department was much less stressful than a stateside wedding too. The decor planning didn’t truly start until a month prior, where they confirmed all of the last details back and forth over a handful of emails.
The Wedding
Most of their guests chose to stay for 4 nights. To welcome all of their guests, the couple hosted a Rehearsal Dinner on Friday night, at the Don Diego restaurant. For their wedding, they hosted the ceremony and reception on the Plaza Finisterra, with ocean views. After taking photos, the reception included delicious food and music. One of Hillary’s favorite moments was when Chad slid in on his knees from nearly 40 ft away, to take the garter off, while ‘Who let the dogs out’ played in the background. Hillary said, “When he reached me fireworks started going off in the background, it was epic!”
Looking Back
Sandos Finisterra proved to be the perfect resort for their destination wedding, and it brought their guests together from far and wide. The couples’ advice is to recognize how special it is that your guests have chosen to attend your destination wedding.
