Resort Insights

Q: How long have you been a wedding coordinator and how many weddings have you cooridnated?

Q: What makes your resort a great place for a destination wedding?

A: Iberostar Cozumel is surrounded of dazzling beaches, spectaculars coral reefs and lush tropical vegetation. It’s the ideal place for couples who want to be in touch with nature, also it is a quiet and romantic place. The hotel gathers the charm of Mexico and includes a villa of bungalows and fascinating outdoors restaurants; the guests will have the opportunity to explore trails and gardens through the nature Also the hotel has a private jetty for people who are passionate for diving.

Iberostar Cozumel has, for the couple, 6 exclusive and private Suites-Bungalows with views to the sea. All our clients can be sure that every detail of your event will be meticulously reviewed, putting everything you need so that, surrounded by a wonderful beach and spectacular vegetation, your event will be a success.

Q: What are the challenges brides face when planning their destination wedding at your resort?

A: Probably the most difficult one would be to plan a destination wedding and not actually being on the spot and putting your big day
in the hands someone else. It is our job to help them visualize (through photos, emails and phone calls) past weddings and help them plan their big day remotely and make them feel safe knowing that their big day will be as they have planned.

Q: What compliments do brides typically give the resort?

A: Iberostar has excellent reviews on all portals, all our hotels have been rewarded multiple times by Tripadvisor thanks to the comments of travelers. Besides, the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraíso was the winner of the best all-inclusive hotel in the world in 2013 and the best all-inclusive hotel in Mexico in 2014.
The travelers have confirmed the quality and service that Iberostar offers in its facilities, according to their characteristics by destination, but in general they love our diversity in gastronomy, the swimming pools, the service and the comfort of the rooms.

Q: What is your favorite part of a destination wedding?

A: The planning process, every wedding is different! You get to really know the couple thru the months prior to their big day in email or phone calls. You get to “feel” what they would like and each time I get excited on being able to “create” each wedding according to what they envision. When you really like what you do, you give 100% or more of yourself!

Q: Can you tell us an anecdote about one of your brides when you saved the day?

A: I remember one couple specially, the groom had lost his first wife to cancer and he decided to come on vacation with his best friend to Iberostar Cozumel. Here he met his future bride, she was also vacationing here; they kept in touch and became a couple and decided to come back to where they met and they got engaged here. I read their story and there was something about them that made me remember this couple especially. On 2015, they came back and decided to get married here!

“This resort is one of the best in Cozumel. The food was great, breakfast to dinner. The pool bar had everything, and the staff was on top of everything. Have been going to the island for 8 years now, once to twice a year, if I could afford it, this would be my second home.” – William K. 8/18

“We stayed at the Iberostar for a week to attend a friend’s wedding. The wildlife they have wondering around the hotel is excellent, flamingos, iguanas, macaws and we even saw a tapir! The buffet lunch and dinners were great but after a week you will want a change so try one of the bookable restaurants. Staff were great, the pools very nice, all in all a great holiday if your just looking to relax.” – Christopher F. 2/18

“Very nice and cozy resort. Truly great atmosphere with a good jungle like experience and amazing ocean views. The food at the resort is excellent and they have multiple bars set up as throughout. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained with flamingos and iguanas roaming around. This a great place to just stay for a week or if you desire to drop in for a day.” – Gerald B. 1/18

“This is a wonderful Resort. I have traveled to Cozumel many times, this is my favorite. The staff here are incredibly friendly and Incredibly helpful, I very rarely had to go to a bar for my own drink, wait staff will serve you on the beach. The ala carte are not the best I’ve had, but they were very impressive. My only complaint with this Resort is the lack of a decent Beach to walk into the water with, but that is common here in Cozumel since it is covered in reefs. This would be an amazing Resort if you love to dive and snorkel. On one occasion we accidentally left our safe open with hundreds of dollars, many electronics and passports. Nothing was touched! They made our room as usual and did a wonderful job. I would highly recommend this resort to anybody looking to stay in Cozumel for a week or longer. I also noticed that my friendly demeanor garnered preferential treatment at no extra cost. A smile and a hello goes a long way here!” – Chris Sherren 10/17
