“Absolutely beautiful hotel, incredible friendly staff, excellent food, I would highly recommend the Riu Guanacaste! We spent a week here in February and it was flawless! The entertainment was top notch, beautiful pools with instant access to the Beach right off the hotel! It is certainly a tropical paradise! And I would go back in a blink!” – Mark C. 3/20

“First it’s beautiful and very clean. The staff is uniformly kind and helpful. The food is very good especially the buffet and the housekeeper not only cleaned the room but left us flowers and did clever things with the linens much like you would see on a cruise ship. There is also a great variety of native plants flowers and wildlife to be seen on the grounds including monkeys varieties of lizards and birds.” – Jen H. 2/20

“Such a fun place. Tons of stuff to do and the staff is super friendly. When they found out it was our honeymoon they gave us a room upgrade and sent up a fruit basket. The views are stunning and we had monkeys and lizards wild on the property!” – Eric H. 4/19

“Loved it! The food was fantastic and the entire resort was spotless. We were there for a wedding and it was beautiful” – Rob B. 5/18

“Stayed Nov 2017 for 2 weeks of needed R&R. Got it. Loved the beach, walked it daily, did not need the water shoes until I went to the far end during low tide to look for shells and climb on the rocks. The beach in front of the RIU Guanacaste is sandy and lovely to swim in, beautiful view of the bay. Took the water taxi to playa del Coco, lots of fun. Our room had a great view of the jungle and zip lines. Woke up daily at 5am with the howler monkeys, bring ear plugs. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Food was great, lots of variety on the buffet and we enjoyed the a la cart restaurants. We are not pool people, but this was a nice pool. Not enough washrooms near pool and beach. Bar service was great, but need a bar closer to the beach. Enjoyed the whole experience and would go back in a heartbeat.” – Kathy T. 12/17

“The RIU Guanacaste is a relatively new hotel with the RIU Palace situated adjacent to it. It has well maintained gardens and a Spanish colonial style decor. It also has incredible sea and jungle views, which you may not need to pay extra for. The food is varied and delicious and has something to please everyone including 4 restaurants which operate under a first come, first serve policy (try to get there by 6pm to get a table). The hotel is situated near an incredible stretch of coast where you will find a lot of Costa Rica’s indigenous wildlife if you look hard enough.” – Rhodri K. 9/17
