The Couple
Tom and Margot originally met at a friend’s engagement party. After several years of dating, Tom proposed during a very special trip. The couple had rented a ranch house along the Sequoia Trail, and after asking the big question they spent the weekend celebrating with no cell phone service, enjoying their company and the epic surroundings.
The Planning
The couple knew they wanted a destination wedding to celebrate their love for the outdoors and beaches, along with the idea of hosting a vacation where all of their loved ones could enjoy some time in a new place. Together with their Destify agent, Ann, they chose the Sandos Caracol Eco Resort. Tom said, “Working with Ann was great and easy.” The resort featured unique wedding venues, room tiers friendly for any budget, and even local wildlife across the property.
The Wedding
The couple stayed for a week and had over 80 guests attend their wedding. Many of their guests chose to explore the area, taking excursions to Tulum or Xcaret, but the couple chose to stay on-site and relax. Plus, directly after they were off to Belize for their honeymoon. Although originally the email communication was delayed, once at the resort everything went perfectly. Margot said, “The wedding department are pros, they knew exactly what they were doing.”
The night before the wedding the couple hosted a welcome happy hour amongst a beautiful mangrove, featuring food and cameos from some of the resort’s monkeys. The couple held their ceremony on the resort’s stunning cenote at 5:30pm, and Mayan drummers played as guests took their seats. They shared their personally written vows and then hosted a private reception at the Sandos’ rooftop terrace. The couple and their guests had a blast, dancing all night to the DJ, sharing heartfelt speeches, and everyone was simply in awe of the full moon that revealed itself for the night, shining over the ocean.
Looking Back
The couple agreed that most of the stress you have isn’t worth harboring. It’s easy to forget how well-trained and equipped these all-inclusive wedding departments are. Don’t stress, everything will work out perfectly in the end.
