The Couple
Tiana and Jessica met in February of 2009 through mutual friends at the college Tiana attended. Initially developing a rapport over Facebook, the couple started dating shortly afterward, igniting a long-lasting spark. After dating for some time, Tiana proposed to Jessica during a show at the Charles Hayden Planetarium in Boston. As the solar system simulation finished, “Jessica, will you marry me?” was written in the stars, with Tiana waiting on one knee with a gorgeous engagement ring.
The Planning
Upon getting engaged, Tiana and Jessica immediately started researching resorts and locations for destination weddings. Because of its 24/7 tropical climate and activity-rich surroundings, the couple sought out properties in the vibrant region of Riviera Maya. After a few months of research, Tiana and Jessica discovered the beachside oasis of the Occidental at Xcaret. Desiring a budget-friendly hotel for their guests, the couple instantly fell in love with the location’s affordable rates and lavish accommodations.
Tiana and Jessica agreed that the process was relatively stress-free due to their Destify agent, Cassandra’s consistency and professionalism. The couple was especially grateful for Cassandra’s assistance while delivering affordable payment plans and tips. “Our guests appreciated the option of having payment plans. A couple of them also got upgraded when better deals were found,” said Jessica.
Citing the impeccable services of their on-site wedding coordinator, Luz, the rest of the couple’s planning process was both simple and streamlined. With Luz and the rest of the wedding department’s assistance, Tiana and Jessica were able to thoroughly enjoy the resort, as well as experience their vision coming to life.
The Wedding
Although the wedding week only consisted of one official event, the couple and their guests relished in the resort’s amenities and surrounding excursions for 5-7 days. Taking advantage of the Occidental at Xcaret’s delectable fine dining options, Tiana and Jessica were able to rotate dinner plans with their family and friends each night. Despite the influx of prep work needed for the wedding, the wedding party found time to explore the nearby world-famous Xcaret Park, a sprawling maze of refreshing cenotes and rock formations.
The couple got married via a beautiful ceremony under the oceanside Garden Gazebo, overlooking a bevy of azure waves. After the ceremony, Tiana and Jessica hosted a dazzling cocktail hour while doing a photo shoot. Shortly afterward, the couple invited guests to a music-filled reception at the Beach Club, adding an extra hour to extend the festivities.
Regardless of how busy the ceremony’s last-minute preparations were, the couple was extremely grateful for the top-notch coordination implemented by their on-site wedding planner. With sparse issues and requests fulfilled in an exceptionally punctual manner, Jessica raved about her favorite moments from the week, “I wish I could relive the whole week. The ceremony is kind of a blur because I was so nervous but the reception was the most fun I’ve ever had!”
Looking Back
After reliving her day of romance, Jessica strongly endorsed the opulent Occidental at Xcaret, extensively praising their wedding planner’s consistent aid. Additionally, she highlighted a key piece of advice for all couples regarding destination weddings:
