The Couple
Sabrina and Nathan met through mutual family members and friends. He lived in a different town and after they had both gotten out of previous relationships they connected years. There was a lot to catch up on, and their relationship truly started from there. While on a beach vacation with Sabrina’s best friend, Nathan proposed during dinner. It was on a deck that captured the sunset perfectly, and Sabrina said, “It was just so beautiful.”
The Planning
The couple chose a destination wedding because it was budget-friendly and intimate. With their Destify agent, Erica, they chose the Dreams Riviera Cancun all-inclusive resort in Mexico. Sabrina said, “Erica knew what she was doing, she was very helpful.” Once working with the resort the wedding department was great at responding by email, and even allowed for some extra permissions so the couple could truly have the destination wedding they envisioned.
The Wedding
The couple planned for a long enough stay that after their wedding it included their honeymoon too. They hosted a welcome party upon the guest’s arrival at the resort’s music lounge, and they also held a rehearsal dinner the day before the wedding ceremony with the bridal party. On the day of the wedding, there was plenty of time to relax before getting ready. The girls went out for breakfast and hung out by the pool, and the guys did the same thing at a different section of the resort. After their 3pm salon appointments, everyone was prepared for the ceremony. The wedding ceremony was held at 6pm at the resort’s wedding gazebo, with beautiful ocean views, and included over 40 of their guests. After, the couple took pictures before meeting their wedding party at the reception. Their reception was private, at an oceanfront terrace, and included decor and plated meals from a set menu. Beyond the wedding festivities, the couple took plenty of time to enjoy the area, including ATV tours, a boat trip to Isla Mujeres for snorkeling, bungee jumping and zip lining too.
Looking Back
Sabrina loved every moment of their wedding vacation, but a standout moment was when the officiant pronounced them husband and wife. Sabrina says the stress is not worth it, so choosing a destination wedding will help to relieve all of the worries.
