The Couple

Robin met Daniel while he was still a long-haired drummer in a local band. After attending a few shows and getting to know each other better, Robin and Daniel officially started dating after his bandmate’s father urged him to ask her out. Upon dating for 5 years, Daniel proposed to Robin in the maze of a sunflower festival in front of close friends. Although Robin knew that Daniel was going to propose (they even went together to choose out the engagement ring), she was caught off guard, as her best friend hid the ring the entire day, discreetly giving Daniel the ring right before he proposed on a pile of hay bales.

The Planning

Inspired by one of their best friend’s wedding in Playa del Carmen years ago, Robin and Daniel knew that they wanted to pursue a destination wedding once engaged. Seeking a family-friendly resort to accommodate close family and friends with children, the couple initially explored Jamaica resorts before discovering Dreams Tulum in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Robin and Daniel agreed that the planning process was both professional and constantly nurtured by their agent Erica. After coordinating the Riviera Maya wedding, the remainder of the planning process was incredibly busy but supported by stellar on-site coordinators. As their wedding day crept closely, Robin and Daniel found it simple to communicate with the resort’s wedding department and were able to both pinpoint their preferred wedding package, add extra amenities, and even consult 3rd party vendors for flowers. Despite the slight stress involved with coordinating the rest of the ceremony, the couple enjoyed their stay at Dreams Tulum, citing how the secluded nature of the property encouraged more interactions and socializing between their guests.

The Wedding

On the day of the wedding, the couple positioned their beach ceremony to catch the afternoon’s immaculate sunset as they said their vows. The couple then hosted a delightful reception at the resort’s picturesque Sunset Terrace with stunning views of the golden setting sun. One of the most memorable and, perhaps, funniest moments of the wedding occurred between the couple’s flower girls, where Robin described, “We had 2 flower girls. One was skipping down the aisle having the time of her life. One was laying on the floor crying in the middle of the walkway.” The guests got a good laugh out of it.
