The Couple
Ramon had seen Joellesa on social media and knew he had wanted to meet her in person. Shortly afterward, Ramon and Joellesa met through a mutual friend and have been inseparable ever since. After dating for some time, Ramon proposed to Joellesa at her house in front of family and friends during what was initially a birthday party planned by Joellesa herself. With every guest in on the proposal, Ramon faked a heart attack, forcing Joellesa, a nurse and medical professional, to rush to his aide. At that moment, Ramon knelt on one knee and proposed to Joellesa.
The Planning
Desiring a destination wedding close to their home in California, the couple found the Iberostar Selection Playa Mita, a Puerto Vallarta wedding resort that satisfied their proximity requirements while delivering an elegant experience. Ramon and Joellesa agreed the planning process was simple and consistent with Destify, and their agent Candyce. With a streamlined process that started 2 years prior to their ceremony, the couple was more than satisfied with Candyce’s services and said “It was really easy. Candyce was very helpful the whole time and I planned fairly early and she was responsive for 2 years.”
After planning the Puerto Vallarta wedding, the rest of the process was rather simple. The couple was able to narrow down their wedding packages with an intuitive guide and were in contact with a photographer the resort had suggested. Although there were some stressors involved with the ceremony’s reception, the resort’s accommodations were lovely and accentuated the couple’s experience. In the days leading up to and after their wedding, Ramon and Joellesa’s guests were able to enjoy a selection of nearby fun-filled excursions.
The Wedding
Before the day of their ceremony, the couple hosted a delectable rehearsal dinner at the resort’s world-class Tsuba Japanese Restaurant with views of the gorgeous Pacific sunset. On the day of the wedding, the couple reaped the benefits of the resort’s Wedding Gazebo and outdoor reception space overlooking the pristine coastline and breathtaking horizon. One of the most romantic moments of the experience, Ramon and Joellesa participated in a First Look, where Joellesa reminisced, “I enjoyed our First Look, I thought it was really nice and special.”
Looking Back
Joellesa digressed that some portions of the on-site coordination were a tad bit stressful, confiding that the ceremony’s schedule felt rushed at times. Despite this, the couple maintained that their overall destination wedding experience was both lavish and simple, citing the impeccable communication between them and Candyce during the planning process. The couple agreed about one important piece of advice regarding destination weddings:
