The Couple

Peter and Cassy met through Peter’s sister, who lives in Las Vegas. He was on a trip from New York, and while visiting she introduced them. On his second trip 6 months later, they began talking and developed a relationship, and he would fly back every 3 weeks or so to visit. They had a long distance relationship for 5 months until he chose to move to Las Vegas. While on a visit to Long Island to visit family, Peter proposed in a sunflower field.

The Planning

The couple had originally planned to vacation to Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic. But Cassy had some health issues and they were unable to make their trip. While deciding where to get married they both agreed on Punta Cana. Cassy said, “It would be a dream come true.” Together with their Destify agent, Jessica, they chose the Dreams Punta Cana resort. Working with Destify was easy, Jessica was very helpful, and the wedding website made coordinating stress-free. Planning with the Dreams’ wedding department was even easier. The couple both agreed the whole planning process was absolutely amazing. They chose from wedding packages and catalogs, selecting decor that best fit their needs.

The Wedding

The couple took full advantage of Punta Cana and planned several exciting events for their wedding week. The day before their wedding they took a boat excursion, which served as the perfect welcome party for guests. On the day of their ceremony, they held their wedding on the beach, followed by a private reception. One of Cassy’s favorite moments was standing together with their 3 children at the altar. The day after, they had a farewell brunch, before guests began leaving.

Looking Back

Cassy’s advice is to not sweat the small stuff, everything will work out. The coordinators at the resort do an amazing job making sure everything comes together perfectly.
