The Couple
Omaris and Chris met at a night club in Nashua, New Hampshire. It was a lucky night, as it was the first time Omaris had gone out in over a year. Chris proposed to Omaris on Christmas Eve, in front of the Christmas tree with their two kids.
The Planning
After lots of research, the couple chose Jamaica for their destination wedding. Working with their Destify agent, Amanda W., they chose the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton all-inclusive resort, in Montego Bay. Destify provided the most informative details and photos of the resort, and Omaris said, “They made it easy for us to choose Jamaica”. The planning process with the wedding department was a breeze too, and they loved their coordinator Chrisan Hunter. Even when their coordinator was on vacation, the resort provided a backup contact so they could still receive service.
The Wedding
The couple stayed at their resort for 6 nights, and many of their wedding guests did too. The couple chose the Island Pearl ceremony package but added some unique upgrades to make their wedding special. The couple held their beautiful ceremony at noon at the resort’s wedding gazebo. The wedding included a tribute to both of their late parents, and the couple agreed it was one of the most memorable moments of the entire week.
Omaris said, “The pastor had the perfect words to say throughout the ceremony”. Following their vows the couple held a sand ceremony, blending four colorful grains of sand together in a jar as a symbol of Omaris, Chris and his children uniting as one family. Their ceremony was followed with a cocktail hour and a reception, which included a live steel drum band and delicious food and drinks.
Looking Back
Omaris’ main tip of advice is to not worry so much, especially about the things you can’t account for. The wedding exceeded all of their expectations. Also, in Jamaica, Club Mobay is a great addition you can add easily to your travel arrangements, making travel much easier with children.
