Kimberly and Elijah’s Wedding at Dreams Riviera Cancun

The Couple

Kimberly and Elijah met during their senior year at Oklahoma State University while in the same capstone course and have been inseparable ever since. After dating for some time, Elijah proposed to Kimberly at the picturesque Alhambra palace and castle in Granada, Spain overlooking a breathtaking view of the lush Spanish valley below.

The Planning

From the start of the planning process, Kimberly and Elijah desired a destination wedding that was considerate of their guests’ travel time and expenses. Due to its close proximity to family and friends living in Texas and Oklahoma, as well as its cheaper airfare, the couple decided to host their wedding in Cancun. A sun-laden gem along the Mexican coastline, Dreams Riviera Cancun fulfilled the couple’s dream wedding location while accommodating their guests.

Kimberly and Elijah agreed that the process, though seemingly intimidating at first, was quite simple and streamlined with the help of their agent Carolina. Carolina was essential to the planning process and Kimberly said, “She saved me a lot of time and stress from having to answer several logistical questions from my guests.” Overall, she was responsive to their guests and helped with their travel plans and schedules.

The Wedding

Arriving a few days before their ceremony, the couple and their guests did not have to leave the resort in order to enjoy all of the property’s fun-filled activities and excursions. On the day of the wedding, the couple tied the knot on the top step of the resort’s grand front lobby staircase with immaculate flora-infused views. After their ceremony, Kimberly and Elijah invited their guests to a lavish cocktail hour on the Jacuzzi Deck followed by a private reception at the beach/pool deck.

Although it did rain during the reception, the couple cited the swift organization and thinking by the wedding staff, as their party and its stunning decor were moved effortlessly into the ballroom. An overall smashing success, it ultimately ensured the perfect finish to an extraordinary day. Kimberly reflected, “The reception was beautifully decorated and the mariachi during the cocktail hour was fantastic!”
