Jenn and Billy’s Wedding at Secrets Cap Cana

The Couple

Jenn and Billy met through mutual friends 7 years ago, and they’ve been together ever since. During a romantic vacation to Aruba, Billy proposed during a walk along the beach one night. The couple knew they wanted a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic because they had visited the country 3 years prior and had absolutely loved it.

The Planning

The couple chose Punta Cana because it was an easy destination to travel too. Together with their Destify agent, Jordan, they selected the Secrets Cap Cana all-inclusive resort. Jenn said, “Working with Destify was pretty easy and straightforward”. Jordan was responsive and got back quickly with any questions they had.

At times the wedding planning process felt stressful, simply due to the number of guests they had attending. The couple had close to 50 guests attend their destination wedding. They worked with the wedding department and selected many of their decor options directly from a catalog.

The Wedding

On the day that most guests arrived the couple planned for a group excursion. On the Friday night before the wedding, they hosted a cocktail hour as a wonderful welcome party, followed by a rehearsal dinner. The couple held their wedding ceremony at 4:30 pm on the beach.

Unfortunately, rain began after the ceremony, so their private reception was moved indoors to the Discoteca. It proved to be an absolute blast. Jenn said, “Many of our guests said to us this was the best wedding they had ever been to!”

Looking Back

The couple both agreed they couldn’t have imagined getting married any other way. Being on a vacation with your closest family and friends is something they’ll never forget. One day can go by so fast, so they were both grateful for the full week together.
