The Couple
Jasmeka and Sylvester’s relationship sparked through the inseparable bond of childhood friendship. With their parents being longtime friends, the couple transitioned from family friends to a couple seamlessly. After dating for a while, Sylvester proposed to Jasmeka at her parents’ house in Atlanta, electing for a private setting to accentuate the importance of their engagement.
The Planning
After saying “yes” and prospering in marriage, Jasmeka and Sylvester knew they wanted to renew their vows via a Jamaica destination wedding, setting their sights on the vibrant city of Montego Bay. Sorting through a bevy of Montego Bay wedding resorts, the couple sought a property that was both budget-friendly and highly rated. Eventually, they pinpointed their dream resort: Royalton Blue Waters, a stunning oceanfront oasis prospering on the shores of the glistening White Bay.
Jasmeka and Sylvester agreed that the planning process was simple and stress-free while working with their Destify agent Lauren. Handling the bulk of the coordination, Lauren delivered essential information and research ranging from suite rates to recommended venues, nurturing an open line of strategizing. Jasmeka said, “We didn’t need to manage a thing, Lauren took care of us and was on top of everything.”
The Wedding
Before their wedding day, the couple hosted a private rehearsal dinner with family and close friends at one of the resort’s world-class restaurants. On the day of their ceremony, Jasmeka and Sylvester tied the knot under the handcrafted beach gazebo, overlooking the calming waves of the Caribbean. From there, the newlyweds invited guests to a ravishing beach tent reception, featuring delectable dishes, professional DJs, and a selection of gorgeous photo ops.
The party didn’t stop there, however. After celebrating at the resort, the wedding party took a trip to downtown Montego Bay, where they danced the night away at the globally-acclaimed Pier One nightclub. The rest of the enchanting week consisted of dazzling excursions such as a Bob Marley Tour, various water sports, and immersive spa treatments. Prior to leaving their tropical oasis, the couple and their guests shared a goodbye breakfast, rounding out their destination wedding experience.
Despite the plethora of tasks and responsibilities that seemed to imbue their wedding planning process leading up to the week of their wedding, Jasmeka elaborated on the punctuality of Royalton Blue Waters’ on-site wedding department. From attentive staff members to their flexible wedding packages, the resort fulfilled the couple’s dream wedding. Reminiscing about the unforgettable wedding week, Jasmeka said, “It was wonderful. Everything that we needed to go right, went right. We were truly able to enjoy our wedding.”
