The Couple

India and Igor won our FREE Destination Wedding Contest, with Royalton Luxury Resorts, after submitting a video entry. The couple originally met in the South Bronx, teaching middle school students in New York City. Igor proposed during a girl’s night out for India, at a restaurant in the city, by singing “All of Me” by John Legend, and presenting the ring.

The Planning

The couple submitted a video entry to our FREE Destination Wedding Contest, where they had to share their story as a couple, and why they wanted to win a destination wedding. Our judges eventually selected them as our winning couple, and they chose to get married at the Royalton Saint Lucia resort, in the Caribbean. The couple had visited the country the year prior, and India said, “We fell in love with the location, the people, and the food”. Destify kept the couple in the loop throughout the planning process.

The Wedding

The couple chose to get married at the resort’s Sky Terrace venue because it was private and featured ocean views. The venue also allowed for the private reception to be held there. Tropical rain came down for most of the day, while the couple and their bridal party got ready, but by the time it was India’s turn to walk down the aisle the rain stopped.

After their ceremony, the couple and their guests returned later in the evening for the private reception. It included food, dancing, and a DJ. India said, “The setup was just as we asked”. For the following day, everyone attended a sunset catamaran cruise to explore more of Saint Lucia, with appetizers and drinks provided.

Looking Back

The couples’ main advice is to stop to enjoy the moment, take lots of pictures, and most importantly have fun!
