Mexico destination wedding at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos – review from Cynthia and Samuel
The Couple
Cynthia and Samuel have known each other since high school, but they had lost touch throughout the years. 20 years later they reconnected on Facebook and have been inseparable ever since. He proposed one New Years’ Eve, in front of all their family and friends. They wanted a destination wedding because they wanted to be away from home, without as much stress, and they liked that it provided a small and intimate ceremony.
The Planning
Together with Destify, and their agent Hilary, the wedding planning process proved simple. Cynthia said, “She was there for all of my guests, she had great suggestions”. The couple chose the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos resort on Mexico’s Pacific Coast because it provided a unique location and was safe, and family-friendly. The Hyatt wedding department proved responsive too. In fact, it was one of the most courteous experiences Cynthia had ever experienced.
The Wedding
The couple stayed for 6 days, and 30 guests attended the destination wedding. Before the wedding, the couple had a private and romantic dinner on the beach. On one day they met many of their guests for a foam party at the pool and hit the on-site clubs at night. As part of their package, the couple also received a couples’ massage at the spa and a room upgrade which they loved. On the day of the wedding, the girls got ready in the suite, and then the guys joined them for photos. Cynthia had brought her own make-up artist and DJ from home.
The couple held their ceremony at 6pm at the wedding gazebo. As Cynthia walked down the aisle, Samuel was at the end of it, crying tears of happiness. They loved the minister, who provided a casual and funny ceremony, so everyone could laugh a little. The reception was on a pool terrace, featuring music and delicious buffet food. Following the reception, many of the guests chose to continue the party at the resort’s piano bar.
Looking Back
The couple loved that they felt safe and secure at the property for the duration of their stay. The supervised activities and programs for kids allowed them to not worry while they were busy finishing the last details of the wedding. At the end of the day, relationships are about understanding each other and their advice is to make sure you know your budget for your wedding and to stick to it.
