The Couple
Chris and Kaleigh met in Junior High, at a friend’s house where they played a game of one-on-one basketball together. They would meet again 5 years later when he asked her out on their first date. After dating for several years, he proposed during a hike in Pike National Forest, on her 21st birthday during a weekend vacation in Colorado. Kaleigh said, “As I was looking at the beautiful view, he got down on one knee and surprised me!”
The Planning
Chris’ family had been to Los Cabo and Cabo San Lucas several times, and they had loved their vacations there so they figured it would be a wonderful destination to host their wedding (and honeymoon) in. Together they worked with their Destify agent, Jessica, to book the Krystal Grand Los Cabos all-inclusive resort.
Despite having to move their wedding date twice due to COVID-19, the couple said, “Jessica was amazing with helping us choose a new date and get all of our rooms rebooked”. The on-site wedding planners were great at communicating by email and sent many inspiration photos to help the couple plan their wedding.
The Wedding
The couple stayed for 7 days at the resort, and despite the pandemic causing some closures to resort facilities and some excursions, the experience overall was still optimistic. One day they scheduled a ziplining trip, which was a blast.
The couple held their ceremony at the beach gazebo, with ocean views. A reception followed on the scenic pool deck. The couple agreed their favorite memory was the cake-cutting and first dances at the reception. The afternoon ceremony time allowed for gorgeous sunset photos, taking advantage of the area’s signature “golden hour”.
Looking Back
The couple is already planning a return trip once more amenities will be available following the pandemic. They highly recommend hosting your ceremony around sunset in order to take advantage of wedding photo opportunities, so plan accordingly.
