How did Destify help you choose the perfect destination and resort for your wedding?

When first working with Destify we were pretty open minded. We wanted somewhere with a beautiful view that needed minimalistic decorations. They showed us a few options to start, we had them adjust the search to accomodate more budget friendly locations but still have it near the beach. The pictures they provided with all the resorts really helped with nailing down where we wanted to have our wedding day. Never being to an all inclusive resort before or even out of the country, this experience was splendid.

What was your favorite wedding moment with your spouse?

My favorite moment was walking down the aisle and seeing his reaction. He always makes me laugh and it helped me feel comfortable in the moment. My entire focus was just on him and the moment and it was magical.

What was your favorite experience at the wedding?

The photographer was amazing. We worked with WBA Studios, whose office is on site at the resort. They were very professional and easy to work with and listened to the vision we were hoping to capture on that day. Our guests told us that pictures he was taking looked wonderful and cannot wait to see the final product!

How was the experience for your guests, and what did they enjoy most about the wedding and destination?

Our guests said they had a wonderful experience at the resort, the drinks were plentiful, the staff was friendly and polite and the ocean was a sight to behold. All the guests enjoyed that we were able to keep the wedding simple yet elegant. The beauty of the water in the background to the interior decor of the Main Buffet where the non-private dinner was held. Simple and Elegant was what we were aiming for and we nailed it.

Looking back, what would you say to couples considering a destination wedding with Destify?

I would say that it was an easy experience. When I needed help with something, or a guest of mine reached out needing help, they were quick about getting an answer and fixing any issues that may have occurred. The company they partnered with for pick up and drop off are not affiliated with the resort. But on the email there was a Whatsapp number to text and they were professional and quick in their response to confirming pick up times. This airport is small so the pickup time on the email was more than enough time to get through security and to your gate with no stress! Tell your rep your vision and they’ll give you options to make your wedding day a big hit!

How was your ceremony and did you have a reception? Where was your reception?

The ceremony was everything I had pictured it would be. It was a pretty windy day, the day we got married, but it helped keep everyone cool, and the photographer was great in working with the wind when taking photos on the beach. We did not have a reception, we only had 16 guests attend so we opted for the semi-private dinner at the main buffet. The wait staff there was amazing and so was our wedding coordinator. We had a three layed cake with each layer being a different flavor and all of our guests loved it! To finish the dinner the wait staff brought out shots of mamajuana for everyone including some for them as we toasted to our new lives as a married couple. After changing outfits we finished the night at Coco’s night club dancing the night away.

What did you love most about getting married at your resort?

I loved the beauty of the area, I felt that this was going to give us some really good wedding photos, which made me even more excited.

How did the amenities at your resort make your wedding week special?

The staff was all very friendly and helpful. If you needed more items brought to your room they were very quick about it. The nightly festivities always made things fun as well. We enjoyed that there was a different show every night at 9 and then a dance party in the plaza from 10-11 (weather permitting, otherwise in the lobby) and then Coco’s opened up at 1030-3 am where you can just dance the night away. The drinks all throughout the resort were delicious and plentiful. This resort overall was everything I could have pictured, and joining other Facebook groups helped out as well.

What features of your resort made your ceremony or reception memorable?

I loved that since we were there for Valentine’s Day, they had tons of decorations around the lobby and plaza. This allowed us to get some nice pictures using the decor. The photographer was great as well in getting creative shots too that we didn’t think of as well as shots we requested. The beauty of the resort was all that was needed to bring everything to life.

How did you feel about planning a destination wedding at first, and in what ways did our team help simplify the process and bring your vision to life?

I was nervous about planning a destination wedding, I’ve never been out of the country before and outside of pictures had no real way of knowing how the place looked at the current moment. The Destify team was quick in getting me in touch with the wedding department and confirming our wedding date almost two years in advance! Knowing that one of the hardest parts, picking the location and confirming the date, was taken care of made everything else a breeze.

Knowing what you know, would you do a destination wedding again?

We would 100% do a destination weddinng again. They made everything so easy, all we had to show up! If you have a busy lifestyle and don’t want to stress yourself out with every minor detail coming to play then this is the the way to go.

Lastly, do you have any advice for future couples?

Pick a wedding that fits you. Everyone is going to have an opinion on the matter, but the thing to remember most is that this is your day. This day is to celebrate the both of you and the love you have for one another. Doesn’t matter if it’s just the two of you or a hundred guests, pick a wedding you’ll be happy with at the end of the day and you can never go wrong!
