Q: How long have you been a wedding coordinator or manager and how many weddings have you coordinated?
A: For RIU 7 years, we do around 230 per year.
Q: What are the challenges brides face when planning their destination wedding at your resort?
A: I will say, weather, as you know in Costa Rica it rains a lot. You always have to have a plan B if you need to change locations last minute.
Q: What is your favorite part of a destination wedding?
A: My favorite part is the “I do” moment. We work hard for many months, in anticipation of that very moment. The magic and air is full of emotions and good vibes, it’s super cool.
Q: Can you tell us an anecdote of when you saved the day?
A: Wow so many. Honestly, I like to recall happy moments instead of moments of stress. But, there was one bride that lost her suitcase with all of her decor in it. We tried to get everything we had nearby to create the desired ambiance, as she had planned. At the end, she was very happy with the result. We mixed many of Costa Rican arts and objects, from stones to flowers and wood.

“Excellent hotel staff and facilities. Highly recommended for a holiday vacation for all ages. Set on the beach and also has a huge free form pool so lots of sun loungers. Lots of bars and restaurants around so plentiful supply of the best food and drink. Some hilarious local wild life visitors too as the cutest raccoons and cheekiest birds try to also feed on the delicious meals here. Lots of local trips on sale from beach sellers or from within the lobby if you prefer insurance and higher prices. 5 star luxury treatment and definitely recommended” – Elaine 12/17
“A beautiful resort with very good food and amenities! Much better than many all inclusives we’ve been to in the past but it has been a long time. Nice pools and lots of activities near by. Nelson Mandela of Caesar Tours has been awesome in setting up ATM excursions and fishing, etc. Will definitely be back to Costa Rica and maybe even here, but we like trying new places.” – Vern L. 12/17
