Waylon and Megan’s Wedding at Dreams Sands Cancun

The Couple

Waylon and Megan originally met through work. After some time dating Waylon proposed on a special trip. They were on a beautiful winter hike in Breckenridge, and he popped the question at an overlook looking down on the city. The couple knew they wanted an all-inclusive destination wedding as they began their planning.

The Planning

While choosing an all-inclusive resort in Mexico for their destination wedding, the couple had a few must-haves. They wanted a great location on the beach, relatively close to the airport, and also a family-friendly resort. Together with their Destify agent, Jordan, they chose the Dreams Sands Cancun resort. Megan said, “Jordan went above and beyond for recommendations, and was willing to help with anything.”

The couple agreed the wedding department was great too. Although there was a slight language barrier, everyone they dealt with was polite and helpful. Dreams Sands Cancun had plenty of entertainment for guests, from nightly shows to babysitting services and delicious restaurants.

The Wedding

Once on-site the couple met with their coordinator to go over last minute details. The day before their ceremony they had a rehearsal with the wedding coordinator. On the day of the wedding, the couple took full advantage of the resort and its venues. They had a beach ceremony, a cocktail hour afterward, and capped off the festivities with a private reception. The couple was pleased with everything, and Megan said, “Everything went so smooth, there were no issues whatsoever.” After bidding their guests and the resort farewell, the couple followed up their wedding with a romantic honeymoon to the nearby Secrets The Vine resort in Cancun’s hotel zone.

Looking Back

Megan’s main advice is to be aware of additional costs, as extra guests and decor can add up beyond the initial price tag. Destination weddings may not be for everyone, you must be prepared to go with the flow and accept any changes since you’re in a different country.
